The unique flavor is achieved when the tea green leafhopper insect nibbles on the leaves and starts drawing up sap from the plant through the leaf. As the leaves begin to oxidize from the bite marks, the aroma repels the bug which hops to a new plant in search of another meal. Also called white tipped tea, because of the white coloration from the insect bites. This intricate natural process creates a unique sweet, honey-like taste in the end product. Aroma has hints of aging bourbon and cloves.
