Our most traditional chai blend, Indian Chai has a pronounced spiciness from the ginger. Other ingredients of cinnamon and cardamom round out the classic flavor of true chai. The base of this tea is a CTC Indian black tea. CTC stands for cut, tear, curl, which is the process of which the tea is harvested and processed; the resulting tea looks like tiny pellets, almost like coffee grounds, which brews very fast, dark and strong, with pronounced astringency – this strong CTC base makes an ideal base for the chai spices. If you want to make a chai latte, Indian Chai is the go-to tea for it, just brew a strong batch of Indian Chai, then add desired milk and sugar.
