Classic Japanese roasted tea. Japanese bancha has been carefully roasted with charcoal until the leaves are fully brown. The aroma has a pronounced toasted quality. The roasting process has removed much of the caffeine, some customers even drink our houjicha at night without any caffeine effects; some also freely give this tea to children. Flavor is toasty, savory and sweet, and very smooth. Our houjicha is directly sourced from small-scale farms in Uji, Kyoto, Japan.
